Boat Mishap Claims 15 Lives in Bauchi
No fewer than 15 people have lost their lives following a boat mishap which occurred at Gwaskaram village in Bauchi state.
The sad incident was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Alhaji Shehu Ningi on Thursday.
The boat according to Ningi was carrying passengers going to the Yola Doka market day weekend.
He said that only three persons were rescued when the incident occurred, but added that rescue operation was still ongoing.
Ningi said the boat was carrying 21 passengers which according to him were too many the capacity of the wooden boat.
