No fewer than 250 members of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have registered to attend the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) holding today in Lagos.
Information reaching SHIPPING DAY said every member of the association is keen to attend the AGM which holds at Eko Hotels.
The AGM is being sponsored by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) in a deliberate effort to resolve the crisis in the association which led to the emergence of a faction.
The National Secretary of ANLCA, Alhaji Babatunde Mukaila confirmed to newsmen about the number expected at today’s AGM.
Mukaila said accredited members are either owners of Customs License or Directors of Licensed Companies in line with the constitution of the association.
All those who registered for the AGM paid N10,000 fee each.
It would be recalled that the AGM had been shifted on two occasions from Benin to Ikeja before the CRFFN intervened and chose its own location and date.
The Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) of Customs, Assistant Inspector General ( AIG) of Police , Maritime Command and the Commissioner of Police , Lagos State and other stakeholders, are expected to attend today’s AGM.
The AGM, it was gathered, will follow the process of preparation for the National Executive Committee (NECOM) to elect new executive which tenure will expire in April.
